Taupo Town Rogaine Series 2026

These events are similar to the town rogaine series we had last year with 27 controls on foot or on MTB using the town map.

Clip cards will be used for all courses.

• Registration:

- Online, closing Thursdays 11:59pm the week before the event

• Entry Fees:

- (includes 1 copy of the map/s for individual entries or 2 copies for teams)

- Individuals $7 for club members and $12 for non-members

- Teams (2 to 5 people) $12 for members and $17 for non-members

- On the day entries will be charged an extra $5

• Course options:

- F60: Foot Rogaine 60 minutes

- M45: MTB Rogaine 45 minutes

• Course Notes:

- Maps printed on paper only:

- There will be 27 controls worth between 10 and 30 points each for a total of 540 points.

10 points per minute or part there of will be deducted after 45/60 minutes ie don’t be late finishing.

- This event will be using clip cards

- Respect Out of Bounds areas, which are marked with vertical red or black lines, or olive green (private properties)

• Timing:

- 10.00am collect clip card (and late registrations)
- 10.15am briefing and handout of maps
- 10.30am mass start
- (10 minutes are allowed for planning at least a part of your route prior to start)

• What else to bring:

- Compass, marker pens, A4 plastic bag, watch or phone to keep an eye on time

• Safety:

- Read the safety and course notices on the board at the event centre

- EVERY competitor must check in at the finish

- All roads are open. Take care with traffic

- Dial 111 for an emergency

- Ring the Planner (Number is on the Health & Safety notice displayed) if there are any issues

• Results:

- Will be on the Taupo Orienteering website and facebook page after the event.

Event centre:

The event centre is at the Greenwich Green Park, off Greenwich St, near the Botanical Gardens
Parking is best in Greenwich St. Nearest Toilet is in the Botanical Gardens.
